Un Gabbber Socievole
Pseudonym of Gabriele Ricca, an eccentric musician and rediscovered, as he himself says, "involuntarily" songwriter. From the age of ten, he dedicated himself to studying the piano and then subsequently rediscovered a constant desire to contaminate and explore other musical instruments. He had never sung until the age of 25, when, during a summer of profound boredom and in prognosis for sudden conjunctivitis, he decided it was time to start singing and writing.
In 2017 the band Skattiati was founded, a mainly acoustic musical project of young singer-songwriters with Jazz & Ska influences, a real mix of contaminations, languages and instruments.
The songs are written entirely by our Gabbber exclusively for voice and piano, but over time, thanks to the contribution of musicians such as Renato Moretti, Salvo Vasta, Giuliano Ursino, Francesco Castrogiovanni and Francesco Messina, the repertoire has been greatly expanded.
I misi di l'amuri
Song composed, written and sung by Gabriele Ricca, included in the album Jacarànda Piccola Orchestra Giovanile Vol. 1, published on 28 February 2020 under the label ℗ Viceversa Records.
The project "Jacarànda, La Piccola Orchestra giovanile dell'Etna", in which Gabbber is accordionist and singer, was born in 2017 on the initiative of the Associazione Musicale Etnea as a laboratory ensemble, directed by Puccio Castrogiovanni, composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist known among others as the founder of the Lautari. The orchestra proposes original songs in Sicilian, for a new contemporary popular music.
In addition to his career as a musician, Gabbber works in Sound Engineering. In these photos, we see him working with equipment.
